Here are some photos from my modeling days. I started this adventure the same year I launched Red Apple Auctions. In some ways, working as a benefit auctioneer and a model were a nice complement to each other. I stuck with the benefit auctioneer work for now, and perhaps later will return to something like this.
- (I’m on the left.) This was my first published modeling photograph. I was in real estate school when I got the call from my agent to drive to the beach for a test shot. I was working in Germany a few weeks later.
- My first work with a male model. His other job was as a lawyer.
- This was shot in Germany.
- Studio shot.
- I think this was one of the shots near the mudflats of Wadden Sea, which is part of the North Sea in Germany.
- Shot around the North Sea in Germany.
- Germany’s small towns always made for interesting outdoor shoots.
- We shot this at a neat-as-a-pin farm outside Bremen, Germany. Piglets were in the barn behind me.
- This was one of my first modeling jobs for Kohls. High Florida humidity killed my hair.
- The previous year in this identical spot, the client had photographed me in this outfit. The outfit sold well. Hoping for high repeat sales, the client invited me back and posed me in the same outfit in the same spot. I remember a discussion over my hair. Because my style was slightly shorter, my ponytail wasn’t visible, as it had been in Year #1. Discussion ensued. They decided they could Photoshop it in, if necessary. Looks like they decided not to do that…
- I’m on the left with long extensions.
- This was a beautiful day spent in California. I can’t recall if it was Laguna Beach or La Jolla.
- This was shot on a pretty day in Central Park (New York, NY).
- Nothing like a lingerie shot to make you re-think your week’s meal plan.
- This is the cover of a small mailer you’d get in your mailbox, advertising an upcoming store sale.
- My hair is pretty darn blonde here.
- I don’t recall the magazine, but recall traveling to a relatively small city in the Midwest for this shoot of wild prints.
- Bag lady …
- Modeling a heating pad for a division of Casual Male.
- My housemate was flipping through magazines that had arrived at the house that day when he saw this page. “Hey, you’re IN here!” he said, “Isn’t this you?” Funny!
- Cover of European clothier Mona Lisa’s winter 2011 collection. Shot in South Beach (Miami, FL).
- I loved this look and shot. The coat was awesome! And the shot is interesting with the South Beach’s Ocean Drive behind me.
- The clothing was really well-made.
- Aren’t they great boots? The stylist offered to sell them to me, but they were just too small. Painful.
