Yesterday’s seminar was SO good.
Glenda and I thought that the seminar was excellent. I have spent several hours today updating our auction plan on Google Docs to incorporate many of the things you reminded us that we still have to do, as well as many of the good ideas we hadn’t thought of yet. It was worth many times its cost.

AACC conducted its first live auction last year with Sherry and we took her suggestion to use GreaterGiving “swipe” terminals. The auction made us an additional $40,000 more than in the past. So when GreaterGiving was conducting a seminar in our area and Sherry was a featured speaker, three of us in our office decided to block off a few hours and attend.
Oh my gosh – it was so worth it!
My colleagues and I got so many ideas to use, and just listening to Sherry and Laci got us pumped up for the next gala. If you want to shine at your next auction, it’s worth clearing your calendar to hear this information. You’ll be glad you did!

We weren’t sure we would get much out of the class today, but we were wrong. Your hour and a half was well worth the day!!

Thanks for getting our members enthused about the possibilities for the silent auction fundraiser at our annual oyster roast.
Organizing the event every year can become a chore and you might have sparked some ideas that will be fun for our members to discuss and try out.

This is a sincere letter of recognition for Sherry Truhlar to be used as a recommendation for her as a speaker and event professional. Sherry spoke to the Event Management Certificate group at Stratford University and was a huge success in terms of both the content and the presentation.
She speaks very clearly, giving real life examples, and good insight into the world of both live and silent auctions for fundraising. Her Powerpoint was excellent and the students found her very informative and exciting.
I believe she would be an excellent speaker for any size group and that she brings humor and insight into her presentation while at the same time providing a very professional body of knowledge. I suggest that she would be an excellent presenter to any group particularly event and meeting professionals.

It was so great to meet you at the Wilmington Greater Giving seminar a few weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the seminar and got great ideas from you and Laci for next year’s auction – thank you!
I wanted to touch base with you to commend your facilitation skills. Your ability to engage and educate adult learners impressed me. I will definitely keep you in mind for assistance if needed at my new school job.

Thanks for a fabulous presentation this week. I think you gained new fans and potential customers.
You are a terrific role model of what can be accomplished with research, a vision, and verve. It was great for me to re-connect with what you’ve done. I’m thinking differently about several things.

Thanks so much for the program on Tuesday and for doing the live auction.
You were great! We’ve gotten so many wonderful comments and this is a tough group. They just want to get to their networking so it takes a great program to keep them interested.

Sherry Truhlar was our keynote speaker at an annual luncheon to celebrate the anniversary of Chi Omega Sorority, of which she is also a member. Sherry spoke to a group of 100 women, whose ages ranged from 19 to 90, and quickly captivated the audience with her entertaining and engaging personality.
Her speech was inspiring to the young women who are currently in college and it was encouraging to hear that it is indeed possible to truly follow your dreams. There were smiles on everyone’s faces as they listened to Sherry give an example of how an auctioneer calls the bids and participating in a tongue twister exercise. Her participation in our event truly made this year’s Eleusinian Tea one of our best ever.

I attended your silent auction presentation (complements of AuctionStar) a few days ago here in Houston.
You were definitely worth the vacation day I took to attend!
I really enjoyed meeting you and learned a lot. And thanks for the procurement resources, which I’ll be using on the school auctions I’m helping.
