I’ve heard from some auction planners who feel they need several weeks to ramp up to a virtual gala.
Not necessarily.
One small nonprofit managed to pivot to virtual in 8 days by investing in my Virtual Gala Fundraiser in a Box program.
- They signed on Thursday.
- We had a meeting on Friday, before the long Memorial Day weekend.
- Bam! The following Saturday, they held their first virtual gala.
Isn’t that impressive?
At the virtual gala, they had their largest attendance ever. I’m hoping that when the dollars are counted, they also surpassed any previous totals raised.
That’s not to say it was without work.
The follow-up list I sent them to research and complete after our Friday meeting likely ruined most of their Memorial Day plans. (The event had never included a live auction, fund a need, or online auction, so there was a lot to cover.)
Yet their 2-person team did it!
And if they did it, you can, too.
Combining your elbow grease with the back-end support from my Virtual Gala Fundraiser in a Box program, you can be rolling out your virtual plan in a few days.

Can you send the link so I can watch their virtual event?
Sherry Truhlar says
Jennifer, these webinar-based virtual galas are often set as private events and not broadcast on Facebook or YouTube. That was the case here. Though the client has a copy of the webinar, they can decide how and when they’ll show it.

I watched it and you never would have known it was put together in 8 days.
Kudos to you and their staff!!

They took a leap, worked hard, and did amazing!
