Over the last two years, the one big constant has been change.
I’ve had substantial changes take place in my work and personal life. You may have, too.
When it comes to changes in fundraising galas, we covered ticketing strategies, VIP boxes, games, and other elements of virtual gala fundraisers in my Conversation series. (My Virtual Gala Cheat Sheet is still a popular free download.)
And now, as we shift into yet another new gala style — hybrid galas — I’m finding myself making notes after each event to ensure the next one is even better. I like to document what works well and what I’d do differently.
So right now, when it comes to recognizing the bidding virtual bidders at a hybrid event, here’s what I’m currently doing.

Hey Sherry…great post once again especially in this crazy fundraising climate. Got a question, has delay with the internet (or latency) been a factor at all for your hybrid events?
Sherry Truhlar says
Thus far, no delay. However I think this depends on the auction software used. I know I’ll learn more as the season progresses and will share then.
