I’ve talked about the tricky matter of determining guest count at a virtual live gala.
And I’ve also covered three tips for boosting virtual gala attendance.
Today I zero in on one suggestion relevant for boosting attendance at your virtual gala — email marketing.
This isn’t the year to go light on emails. The day and time of your virtual gala is more easily forgotten than your in-person gala.
That’s why it’s important to remind guests multiple times of when your event is starting.
The 48 hours just prior to your online gala is important. As showtime nears, that’s the time for your big email push.
In today’s video, I share the string of emails that one school sent to get guests to login.
You’ll cash in when guests log in, so I encourage you to make a big push as your event nears. You want eyeballs on the screen, so don’t be afraid to send multiple emails, texts, etc.
Have you used another marketing device that successfully got guests to attend?
If so, what was it? Post below.

I found Sherry about 10 years ago when I was silent auction chair of a small local animal rescue. The event had been held for many years and had never raised more than $18,000. I bought one of Sherry’s cd’s on silent auctions. By employing many of her suggestions, we hit our goal of $28,000 that year. Sherry is a true resource for this very specialized area of fundraising. I highly recommend her!
