More than triple our live auction revenue
I have been following Sherry for years. With our 10-year anniversary coming up next year, I wanted to start putting practices into place now to build up our Gala. The Gala had been successful every year, but I felt that it was becoming stale, especially with the live auction and fund-a-need. Sherry was exactly what we needed to add energy and new ideas.
I was a little nervous about hiring her because we were only 5 weeks from our event! With the time constraint we had to prioritize our focus to a few key areas. But, Sherry was an excellent resource and her online training videos gave me everything I needed to pull together several vital changes that made a huge difference.
We were able to more than triple our live auction revenue, with well over 100% ROI! In addition, our silent auction ROI increased by over 10%! Plus, I received tons of compliments about the great auctioneer/MC.
I’m so glad we worked with Sherry, and I’m hoping to get things scheduled for next year, so we have an even greater ten year anniversary event!
Third soirée with Sherry
This is the third Soirée that Sherry has done for us. She really understands our community and how to “handle” our audience now. We’re very different from Possible Dreams (which is another community gala, but much larger and well-known) because we don’t have the “Hollywood” crowd.
Our event is much more low key. But Sherry gets right in there and energizes everyone and, as a result, we always do well with the auction packages. She’ll even be clever and recognize past year’s auction winners, to play off them during the live portion (which I think they like!). And she always weaves something about Hospice into her pitch for each auction package, which helps to remind the audience why they’re there to support us.
Tripled the fundraiser money
Sherry is a top-notch auctioneer and Gala/Fundraising Consultant. I personally have learned so much from her. But even more than that, she took our small little school auction, served by parents and held in our gym, and helped us turn it into a true Gala.
Not only has it tripled the amount of money we are making, and filled every seat, it has become an event that our supporters want to attend, rather than feeling obligated to do so. Our school auction, with the help of Red Apple Auctions, has elevated the standard for events in our city.
30% increase in donated funds
This was the third year we had the great benefit of Sherry serving as the auctioneer at our annual Gala. While our event helps raise awareness for our provided charitable transportation services to critical medical care for those in need, its primary goal is to raise funds to support the mission. And raise funds is what Sherry is GREAT at doing!
With Sherry’s work and guidance on our live auctions and Mission Moments, combined with her input on our silent auctions, we have seen a 30% increase in donated funds for these parts of our Gala from three years ago. And while our guests were donating at greater levels every year, they always walk away raving about the good time they had at the Galas. Talk about a win-win!
Sherry was worth every penny
When we made the decision to hire Sherry for Centennial Gala, she assured us that we would have all of the details and program worked out well in advance of the event. She was right…we had several scheduled calls in the months leading up to the Gala. She asked very specific and great questions to ensure that she had all of the information needed to ensure success. In addition, she shared a number of great suggestions to help increase our fundraising efforts.
That night, she arrived early and had a list of guests with whom she wanted to connect; these guests had donated items to the live auction. She not only thanked them for their donation, she collected additional information about the item for auction, which she used to help increase the price. At the end of the program, the CEO leaned over and said, “Sherry was worth every penny!”

Sherry is truly remarkable, and her talent, personality, and genuine enthusiasm are all huge parts of the success of our event each year. She makes an effort to personally connect with the people in the room and the organization’s mission. She works with us before the event and challenges us to focus on unique ideas that will engage our audience. She cares about our success and acts as a true partner, an advocate and a cheerleader.
